Joan’s practice areas include competition and antitrust, corporate services, disputes (litigation & arbitration), energy, labor, and tax.
Joan’s work experience pre-dates her joining the firm in 2023. From 2017 to 2019, Joan worked as an Audit Associate at Reyes Tacandong & Co. Her work included performing internal control testing, planning and risk assessment, substantive procedures of account balances, tax credit allocation, tax evaluation and assessment and financial reporting.
While in law school, Joan was a member of the Academics Committee of San Beda University – College of Law, RGCT – Bar Operations Center from 2020-2023. On the other hand, while in college, Joan served as the Assistant Vice President for Membership of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – Bicol University Chapter. Joan also served as a member of the Editorial Board of The Appraiser, the Official Student Publication of the Bicol University – College of Business, Economics and Management.

- Assisting in civil, criminal, labor and administrative cases before various Philippine courts and quasi-judicial bodies
- Assisting in tax, labor and corporate advisory matters
- Assisting clients in disputing BIR assessments
- Assisting with the completion of various regulatory requirements
- Assisting in general corporate housekeeping of various companies
- Assisting in the preparation of pleadings in tax, criminal and energy litigations
- Drafting legal opinions on tax, labor and corporate matters
