Rico’s practice areas include competition and antitrust, corporate services, fintech, and TMT.

Rico’s work experience pre-dates his joining the firm in 2026. From 2023 to 2025, his work included serving as a Research Assistant for the UP Law Competition Law and Policy Program and working as a Legal Apprentice for the Philippine Competition Commission.

While in law school, Rico attended the International Criminal Law Program in The Hague, Netherlands, served as a Team Leader for the UP-Diliman Office of Legal Aid, and held leadership roles as Head for the UP Law Bar Operations Commission, the UP Law Career Fair, and UP Law’s Freshie Welcoming Program. On the other hand, while in college, Rico was actively involved in student organizations as an editor of one of the college’s student publications.

Qualifications

• University of the Philippines-College of Law, Juris Doctor (Class of 2025)
• University of the Philippines-Diliman, Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication (Class of 2021, Cum laude)
• Admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2026

Experience

Rico has participated in several matters.  His experience has included:

• Conducting corporate services for various clients
• Assisting with matters related to competition law and policy and financial technology
• Assisting with contract drafting and review for various corporate and commercial transactions
• Assisting with the completion of various regulatory requirements
• Assisting with energy and infrastructure projects
• Conducting due diligence involving corporate acquisitions
